Hello, I’m Ellie…

A lifestyle photographer with a love for adventure, travel and Land Rovers! (Especially my very own Defender - Winston!)

My passion for the outdoor environment developed as a result of growing up in the beautiful rural countryside of Suffolk. This was then heightened after moving down to the Cornish coast to study at Falmouth University.

My photographs are now mainly based around the lives and stories of those influenced and inspired by our oceans, the great outdoors, and everything in between. Now I am based back in Suffolk, I have a particular interest in the rural stories of both the people and places that make up this beautiful county.

Why Choose Me?

After choosing photography for both GCSE and A-level, I then went on to study Marine & Natural History Photography at Falmouth University, of which I recently graduated with first class honours. This move to the Cornish coast, really enabled me to find my niche area of photography, and embrace my love of the great outdoors.

Getting to spend all my time outside exploring the rugged coastlines, enabled my skills to develop quickly. To be able to capture the stories of those who are just as inspired by nature and their environment as I am, is what I love most. Since my move back home, I have now been able to adapt these skills and modify them to the rural landscapes and stories that lie within the Suffolk borders.

I am often found cruising around the country in Winston, my Land Rover Defender. With a flask of tea, and my camera packed, I love nothing more than discovering new adventures and capturing beautiful images along the way.

My Home Life…

Having spent my entire life in the countryside, the move down to the south coast for university three years ago, was a very big deal. Having now graduated and returned home to the rural fields of Suffolk, it has made me realise how much of an impact my surroundings have on my images. Whether its the clear waters off the Cornish coast, or the rollings hills of Suffolk, I can wholeheartedly say that these are what inspire and motivate me the most.

Living down in Cornwall enabled me to developed a deep love for telling the stories of the local people and how they connected with their own surroundings. Much of the Cornish way of life is connected to the ocean, and I loved being able to capture this through my photographs. Since moving back to Suffolk, I have been able to adapt this to those living in a more rural setting, allowing me to capture their strong love of the countryside too.

My heart will always be torn between the two counties, and I now think of Cornwall as my home as much as Suffolk is. They are the two places of which have inspired me the most, and I will be forever grateful for the impact that they have had on my work moving forwards.
